I'm starting weaning DS from BF to formula and am still not sure if I should be weaning him onto first milk formula or follow-on formula? any thoughts? thanks. he's 7mo.

My HV's advice is to use the normal first stage formula. We were talking about it today as I am doing the same thing with DD 6.5 months. HV reckons follow on milk is a bit of a con.

Follow on milk is indeed a con, don't bother with it.

cheers, thanks for that.

the only thing about follow on is that it tends to be cheaper than the first milks and you can get deals on them which you cant get with the first milks e.g. buy 2 tubs for a reduced price, etc, etc
