Is the "rule of thumb" for FF babies ^really^ 2.5-2.7oz's per 1lb of weight????

I can't believe that - as I'm not sure of DS3's current weight - but nearly 1 month ago he was nearly 17lbs......and he's grown a lot since then so I'm guessing 18/19lb now. In my book that makes 45oz of milk a day - but he's only 18 1/2 weeks!!! Surely that can't be right (he currently has around 35-40oz in a 24hr period (although most of that is usually from 7am (ish) until 8pm) - so a 12hr period really.....

I have never heard of this rule. I ignore all that kind of stuff generally and just go with what my baby drinks, which is roughly 8oz per feed, four feeds a day (she's just dropped her 11pm feed). Plenty wet nappies, putting on weight just fine.
