Hi there.
I’m a single mum to 5yr and 2yr old DS’s. I still BF DS2. He just turned 2 in May.
I don’t have a clue what I’m doing. I’ve asked for help from doctors, HV, support workers.. no one is giving me any good help.
Some days he wants fed non stop. Last night I’m not sure if he unlatched at all between 1-5am. I am in sooo much pain and just want to stop but he literally won’t. He will scream and scream and start hurting himself if I don’t feed him. I don’t even think he’s getting much, he just wants to suck anyway.

Please someone help out a very tired and very sore mama!! 😔

I recommend the site KELLYMOM. It has helped me so much over the years breastfeeding my 5 DC.

I stopped at around 14 months with each of them (still feeding 10 month old twins!) And gradually I stopped offering the boobs and they stopped asking for them. If it's comfort your DS wants then give him comfort, but try to offset the association with comfort=breasts. Hugs, milk in a cup, books etc.

Have you checked he's not ill, teething, hurt? Weaning from the breast is much easier if child is in good health and not in a period of flux.

Cut feeds down, don't stop cold turkey. Stop offering both sides at each feed.

You'll get there, but expect a few tears from him!
