Baby Led Weaning - Advice needed!

Hi!

I'm about to start Baby Led Weaning with my six month old son. He's not quite sitting up unaided but his head control is really strong and I've recently been letting him take food from my plate if he chooses to (made sure it's only steamed vegetables only for me at the moment!) so I'm confident he's ready.

I know that foods should be introduced one at a time when going down the purée method of weaning but what about BLW? For his first 'meals' can I offer two or three types of finger food at a time? Should I offer the same foods for a week before introducing something else or can I literally introduce whatever vegetable / fruit / bread going?

Any advice gratefully received! Smile

I'd introduce 1 fruit or veg at each meal.
Then move on to other food e.g. wheat, egg, yogurt.
The reason to introduce 1 at a time is in case of allergic reaction.
If you haven't already, I found the blw book by Gill Rapley helped me understand it more.
I'm doing mixed so some purees on spoons and some finger food.
