Condom break 6 weeks post-baby - do I need the morning after pill?

Arrrgh! First time DH and I had managed to have sex properly and the blardy thing snaps at the crucial moment. Natch we don't find out till afterwards.

I'm bf fully. Do I need the MAP? And will it affect the supply, quality of the milk etc?

You should definitely take the pill; a friend of mine got pregnant 3 months after the baby, fully bf (and, erm, took the MAP but it had no effect). She has some special immunity to it though as she got pregnant the first time after taking the MAP!

Yes got get it as soon as possible , within 24 hours it is most effective. phone NHS 24 to find out if there is a family planning/minor illness unit open where you can get it today or else the chemist.

If you're having sex within 6 weeks of giving birth then you deserve everything you get!

If you don't want to risk having another baby next May, then get the MAP.

And DH the next size up.

Definitely take it - shouldn't affect supply, and better safe than sorry if that's how you would feel about a BFP. There wil be a pharmacist open in your area - they take it in turns - you can buy it OTC.

I know a lady who was (unwittingly) pg when she went for her 6 week checak!

An 11 month age gap (which she has between her 2) isn't easy!

I have a friend who's DS2 & DS3 are 11 months apart - and in the same class at school. (Works well for them though!).

I read that info about protection offered by BF as well... and then I re-read the posts about two DCs 11 months apart, and went and got the MAP anyway.
