Prep machine not giving hot shot

So our prep machine is not giving off the hot shot anymore. I've been through all the stages of cleaning etc as per the manual as the filter was due to be changed anyway but that hasn't done anything. Had anyone had anything similar/ know what to do. Really hoping my prep machine hasn't died as we rely on it and can't afford a new one right now. Any help appreciated

Have you tried running it aa if you are making a bottle a few times in a row into a jug or something? Mine has done this a few times, usually after cleaning it or not using it for a little while but it has always started working again but only after a few tries. It might be worth trying that before you give up on it if you haven’t already.

Thanks for the advice @Grendel90 but I've tried running it through about ten times now and still nothing :( I'm going to contact tommee tippee today to see if there's anything else I can try before I give up all hope lol x

You can use the same method by using a kettle too. If you boil a kettle of water, leave it to cool and put it in a flask, that’s the cold top up.
Then with any bottle you need just boil a small amount of water in the kettle and that’s your hot shot. Just have a little jug handy to measure out the right quantities.

I remember mine doing this when the water inside was too warm.
Try emptying the water out and then putting in really cold water

Mine has done the same, if you put it onto number 4 and run a 4 ounce bottle off (only put 2 ounces of water in my bottle) then put it on the right setting for what you need, the hot shot comes back x

@IShineAShoe great idea. Maybe a stupid question but can this work when bottles are for tiny quantities at the beginning? So for a 2floz bottle how much boiling water would you use if that makes sense? Is it about covering the formula?

@omg35 I think in that case I’d just make it up with the 2oz of boiling and cool it down by running under a cool tap (if you’re at home). When I was out and about in the early days with small quantities I just used the ready made bottles.

Hi. This just happened to ours too. In the end we ran a clean cycle with boiling water and it started working again. Not sure why this happened but working now. (Long press right button and choose clean cycle but fill from start with boiling water to run it through the lines). Good luck 👍

Hey did you ever contact Tommee Tippee about this issue? Having the same problem myself. 4am with a screaming baby and no pre cooled water is not a fun mix! 😅

Hi Holly, I’ve had this twice - once it started again after running the clean cycle, and the other time I tried running the 4oz bottle with just watcher into a cup and when that had run I tried the bottle size I needed and that worked too. I put it down to Gremlins!

Hi iv done the same as your self cleaned ut cleaned the filter and put the water in to make bottle no light came on to say its heating up or tanks full I think these are a waste of money ,the ood way is best av been using the kettle ,done that with ma kid who are adults now ,and it my granddaughter I got it fur wow rotten I think to

2 oz ov water hen 'see if its 3 ,4, 5 it's the same and the scoops of milk is the same 2oz is 2 scoops ,5oz 5 scoops pal ,I have had my kids young so iam watch my wee granddaughter pal all the best hen xx

Hi all, I had the same happen.

I just reset the whole system following these exact steps (as if I had just taken the machine out of a brand new box) from the ‘set up and cleaning’ page and now it works!

FYI follow EVERY step, even if you think it hasn’t worked.
I also didn’t replace my filter just took it out and left to one side.
