Night time struggles

My baby is 3 weeks old and is EBF. During the day she feeds well (not usually for long) and then sleeps immediately after. She does not seem to be in any discomfort and seems very content. She is gaining plenty of weight and sleeps very well during the day. We will put her down to sleep at around 8/8.30pm and she will sleep for a few hours. After this last evening feed is where it all goes downhill. She sleeps in the bed beside me. During and after every night feed she will fuss, groan, kick her legs and generally trash her body around. I will wind her, change her, let her sit up for a while but she still will not settle back down and will be restless and look like she is in discomfort for hours. I really dont know what is wrong or if theres anything I could do differently. If anyone has any ideas that could help I would really appreciate it!

Colic. It's a nightmare but she will grow out of it. Something to do with the digestive system slowing down at night and their little tummies being so tiny. My baby was exactly the same.

God I was hoping it wasnt colic. Was there anything you did that helped at all? I dont mind the waking up to feed, it the fact that she seems to be so uncomfortable and just wont settle back to sleep..she must be exhausted

She's still getting used to the outside world and her digestive system and won't know night from day yet.

But yes, DS did this and I didn't sleep for weeks through anxiety or his noises.

Have you got a partner/ husband who can take her, e.g. in a sling for an hour or two evening and early morning so you can have some solid sleep and cope better (saved me!)

I tried gripe water, colief and infacol. Tbh I found them a waste of money but honestly as each week passes it will improve.
