well done yg!
it's not always a bed of roses, but it's a great feeling to look at a little one and think - 'I did that - milk and everything'!

marthamoo · 03/10/2004 22:20

Good for you, Yorkiegirl

cellulitequeen · 03/10/2004 22:23

Well done YG, I BF for 9mo and it was the best thing I've ever done!

Ghosty · 03/10/2004 22:26

Yorkiegirl ... hoooooorrrraaayyy .... Congratulation
You sound just like me ... I gave up with DS at 6 weeks and was determined to go for longer with DD.
I set myself little goals ... First was to get past 6 weeks. Then I thought, let's see if we can make 3 months. Then 4 months ... At 6 months I was really proud. Now DD is 8 months and we are still going strong.
DH has been very supportive but has recently said that when DD has teeth he would like me to give up (WHY???) ...
I am beginning to think I might make it to a year which I never ever thought I would do ...
Well done to you (and me!!)

CONGRATULATIONSSSSSSSSS!!!

tangerinecath · 03/10/2004 23:07

Well done Yorkiegirl, hope to be posting a similar message myself in 3 months' time (dd's 3 months now)

Pidge · 04/10/2004 09:14

Fantastic - you are rightly proud of yourself. It can be soooo difficult, which makes it even more rewarding when it starts to go right.

Tessiebear · 04/10/2004 10:08

I felt exactly the same with my DS2. I was unable to feed DS1 longer than 4 weeks. With DS2 i had mastitis 8 times in the first 6 months but was determined to continue and made it to 2 years ... dont think i would ever have stopped but at two the time seemed right!

MarmaladeSun · 04/10/2004 10:44

Yorkiegirl. Well done. Nobody realises how hard it is to exclusively breastfeed do they until they have done it. I didn't manage to bf DD1 or DS, despite trying so hard. I was heartbroken and felt so guilty. But with DD2 I have made it to 3 months, with no intention of stopping. I love it. So I feel very proud of myself too. Keep it up, there aren't enough of us out there!

spots · 04/10/2004 11:13

Well done Yorkiegirl Lots of people would have given up at a 7 week glitch. sticking power pays off.

TracyK · 04/10/2004 11:35

well done - my ds is 7mo and still bf - I thought many times too about giving up - but to be honest - I don't know how! I've suffered with blocked ducts quite a few times and it scares me to think of not being able to bf or express and get blocked again.
So I'll keep going - plus I'm too lazy to always have formula in the house/ready!

Thomcat · 04/10/2004 11:40

Well done Yokie

zebra · 04/10/2004 11:42

Cool, Yorkie.

acnebride · 04/10/2004 11:45

kbaby · 04/10/2004 12:36

hermykne · 15/10/2004 15:19
