Please help I’m desperate - baby refusing to feed

My little boy is 14 weeks old. I breast fed him when he was born and then moved to expressed breast milk a weeks in. He was doing really well until about 7’weeks when he started getting really fussy and crying on the bottle. He then dropped two weight centiles and was diagnosed with silent reflux. He’s been on lansoprazole 7.5mg since then.

Over Christmas he barely ate. He would only eat if I walked up and down feeding and distracting him. Straight back to the GP after Christmas and was diagnosed with CMPI. I stopped the breast milk and put him on Similac. He did really well for three weeks and moved back up a centile. He was taking 30-35oz per day although he did take an hour to feed each time. We saw a private paediatrician with an allergy specialism and he agreed this was the best course of action. He also said baby has a disordered suck.

Last week it started up again. Screaming through feeds, refusing to eat more than 1-2oz. I’m fighting him constantly to eat. Back to GP who has given us Neocate. He’s been on it since Monday and is eating steadily less each day. He won’t take the bottle for anyone other than me and I’m physically and mentally exhausted fighting to feed him. We’ve been referred to a paediatric dietitian.

He would happily sleep through the night but when he stirs at 3/4am I feed him just to try to get those extra oz in him. Last night he screamed through that so only had an oz.

I didn’t sleep all night crying because I’m absolutely at the end of my tether. I’ve tried every bottle and teat flow, an osteopath, probiotics and nothing works. My husband has had to take today off work as I feel like I’m on the verge of a mental breakdown. Please has anyone any advice?

I'm so sorry your struggling, i don't have any advice but wonder if it's partly the reflux? Mine would cry after about an oz and fight the feed, i know it doesn't work for everyone but Gaviscon sorted out my daughters reflux.
Prior to that diagnosis she was put on Nutramigrn and she hated it! Took at max 2oz per feed, maybe he hates the formula?
Could he maybe go back on Similac if he was happy with it an try adding Gaviscon?
Really hope you find a solution soon

I can't speak to the type of milk or what may be causing this behaviour but I found this book

www.amazon.co.uk/Your-Babys-Bottle-feeding-Aversion-Solutions/dp/1976164419

Very helpful in understanding my baby's bottle feeding aversion and why he wouldn't eat well.
