is it a big deal> I mean, is your baby unwell?
dd3 was weighed at birth, at about 10 days and not since (she is almost one) you can get obsessive about these things

mine was weighed every 3 days after birth.
but then he was below the normal birth weight.

Yes I believe it's normal & the NHS baby book will also say this. Both mine were weighed at birth and then 10 days after birth, since babies nearly all lose weight after birth and they pick back up again by about day 10-12.

I think that is weird - a midwife should come and visit you at home for at least 10 days and it's standard practice to weigh the baby fairly regularly until they recover their birth weight.

Hopefully it's overkill - but how else would they know if there were any problems?

DS was weighed after 11 days, so pretty normal I think.

ok, maybe my mw was super-paranoid!

DS got weighed at every home visit - there were three I think until I was signed off.

skin tone and pallor, feeding patterns, wet/dirty nappies - they are all indicators of general health

dd was weighed at birth and then at 10 days.

midwife came to see us twice, the day after she was born, then 5 days after that.

HV came at 10 days then i think a week after that.
