Evening feed - Night out at 12 months

I'm planning to take DW for a evening out to the theatre for her birthday. DD will be 12 months. She is now 11 months, EBF and down to 2 feeds (1 morning, one evening) per day and eating plenty of solids.

We would be out from 5pm and not back until midnight. Plan is to get family member to babysit. Her last BF is normally around 7.30pm.

Can we realistically book this night out or are we being too optimistic about this? It's her 40th, so needs to be special and don't just want to do something local.

We haven't had any evenings out or babysitting so far, so don't really know what to do! Any ideas would be welcome!

Since dropping down to 2 feeds, she is finally starting to take some formula from the bottle, but still only around 60ml. Also, she is really used to her last feed as a comfort before she goes to sleep.

We plan a run through with mum in law before the actual birthday.

Is your DW happy to leave her?

I've kept her in the loop about everything to do with the evening out, except for what we will actually be seeing.

She is always on the cautious/nervous side about these things, but she still wants to do it.

I guess i'm just looking for practical suggestions how we can prepare for this and also what to expect. Will it be really difficult for grandma? Should we give that final breastfeed early before we leave at 4.30pm?

She's really used to that final feed putting her to sleep

You've got a month to try put a new plan in place (bottle or try move feed) and if baby isn't happy its only one night. Baby might cry and kick off for half an hour yes upsetting for grandma but both people will be ok. Please enjoy your lovely night off!!
