does anyone else have a baby who will only drink bedtime bottle lying flat in his cot?

ds is 7 months and fights the bottle if he's cradled or sitting upright - infact he just won't drink it. for 2 nights i've been so exasperated that i tried giving it to him lying flat in his cot and he downed 8 oz which is unheard of for him (very small eater). is it wrong for me to do this? why is he doing it and does anyone else have a baby that does this?

I heard that this can give a child glue ear so be careful issywoo.

This might be a completly ridiculas idea, but is his nappy to tight/small? Maybe as his tummy fills with milk he's getting uncomfortable. Does he let you sit him up to be winded after?

Both of my ds's always preferred to drink from their bottles while lying on their backs. I have absolutely no idea why this was but they both did it.

I'd heard that this could cause problems with their ears but tbh they've both been fine. Ds1 has had 2 ear infections in 4yrs (the infection spread from his throat) and ds2 has had 1 ear infection in 20 months. (touchwood!)

My dss always had their last bottle of the night in their cots, and now ds1 takes his drink to bed, and ds2 a beaker of milk (I know about teeth etc, but it settles them). They sleep through the night and are generally good sleepers

thanks for alerting me to the ear issue. he just refuses to feed in my arms and its so hard to get the angle right so the milk actually makes it into the teat. i find it all so frustrating. he does have diaphragm issues and i am taking him to see a cranial guy which has improved things generally with him ie: he's upped his food/milk consumption
