alarmed by ds2's weight gain (2lb 12oz in 2 weeks) and sumo-like appearance

he's gone from 25th centile at birth to between 75th and 91st at 4 weeks 6 days

because he's colicky i find it hard to know when he's hungry, so tend to interpret his cries after 3ish hours as those of hunger

but maybe he isn't hungry at all..?

My DS is 16 weeks and rarely goes 3 hours between feeds (apart from if he's asleep)
Not really advice I know, just wanted to say I'm

Bloody Marvellous!

Someones got to be at the top of the chart!

Babies settle down to their proper or natural growth velocity in the first few weeks - some "catch up" some "catch down".

I would imagine you have some tall men in your family?

Tutter · 21/08/2007 20:10

yes, my dad and brother both >6ft tall

and dh from welsh rugby playing stock

ds1 was a titch at birth but soon reached > 50th centile and is v tall now

but ds2 really is fat

old ladies are calling him "bonny" a lot

Lovely. Mines 98th centile- hes 19lbs at 14wks and I love it! He looks gorgeous so just smile and say 'thank you!' to the old ladies...

Pinkveto · 21/08/2007 20:14

Bonny - an interesting word!

My mum adores babies with "elastic bands" round wrists and ankles, she thought my just under 9th centile DD was scrawny for the first 5 months...

You cant win!
