Since last Wednesday DD3 has started struggling whilst feeding. She was on 7oz roughly every 4 hours but now is only managing 4 or less. After the first ounce she starts arching her back and trying to get off me.

I have tried infant gaviscon to rule out reflux, this has had no effect. Have also tried infacol and gripewater and again apart from the massive man burps she does, she still struggles. DD doesn't push the teat out as she still wants the feed so I have no clue.
I have also tried changing the teats but again it's had no effect. Am starting to get worried that she isn't taking enough fluid although she has pleanty of wet nappies and a poo a day. Any advice or experience I would be very greatful!!!

TIA

Oh and she is always tired after her feed. Has about 4/5 hour sleps a day and sleeps from 9PM to around 5am. I know it may seem like a blessing but it's worrying hw much she sleeps my other two DDs were nothing like this.

fwiw and hope that it eases your worry...mine ate only about 4 oz a feed until he was about 4 months, when he slowly began to increase. he's 7 mos now and doing fine.

its just that she has changed quite drastically from the 7oz bottles and scoffing them to this

Have you tried moving up to the next size teat? It could be that the flow is too slow and she is getting fed up trying to suck it? Just to warn you when you change up she may also find it a bit fast for the first couple of feeds and splutter a bit!

Sorry not properly awake yet - ignore my post - can't read!

Agree with you Sam.

dd was exactly the same (althugh she drank less milk than your dd anyway. It's almost as though they give up if frustration.

Or maybe she needs less milk but more often?

Have tried the teats they are all now medium flow. I am having to feed her roughly every 2/3 hours. It's just the painful struggling after the first ounce or so that is really worrying me. Am going to see the GP this afternoon although I can't se what he can suggest that I haven't tried already. I even changed her milk yesterday to see if that would help but nope still the same.

It is worrying isn't it?

Good luck for this afternoon
