positioning of baby when bfing - what to do with lower arm?!

i used to tuck ds1's arm under him when feeding (think was told about this positioning in nct classes?)

ds2 seems to hate this and resists it - i don't like forcing the movement

wondered if other people position the baby's arm around them, rather than tucked down by their sides, iykwim

I do.

well, I did. now ds puts it wherever he wants!

I have done both these positions at some time or another but prefer their arms round me. Both fine but I remember that in the early weeks i found manipuating their limbs tricky into any position!

round my back I think.

I stretched it out forwards so it was around my side, up by his ears. Not sure if that makes sense but too sleep deprived to explain properly .

I long time ago but I just used to let it hang down or lay alongside his / her body.

sometimes DS objects to having the arm tucked under so he puts around me/my arm

seems fine

puts it around obviously

am shattered from the bleeding teethingness of him
