Boobs back to normal - when?

How long does it take for your boobs to go back to a steady size once you've stopped breastfeeding? I stopped 3 weeks ago and am v keen to go out and buy some new bras but don't know when it will be safe to do so. There seems to be loads of info in the books about starting bf-ing but not stopping.

Bron,

demented - i really laughed when i read your post. i breast fed for 10 months last time, so was thinking that this time round i'll breastfeed for less time and maybe they will shrink. i guess there is no hope for us, huh.

(oh and how do you do those smiley faces?)

percy, maybe that is what the woman who is breastfeeding for 8 years is going for. I think I need to feed that long to get rid of my wobbly bits. No hope for the boobs then I am like you and prefer them smaller.

You'll find how to do the smiley faces etc under getting started under useful stuff at the top of the page.

I'm 31 and still have the body of a 12 year old. Sigh. Given up hope of getting any boobs ever. Although when b/f-ing did need a B cup. Wow. Still, I don't have to worry too much about getting the right size bra, mostly don't need one, a camisole suffices!!

What I'm getting round to saying is, do babies find smaller boobs easier to feed from? My two were very easy to feed. Perhaps it's harder to latch on to Dolly Parton type boobs?

Just a thought ...
