I am demand feeding but there doesn't seem to be much demand today
Possibly because DD has found her thumb

Any suggestions as to how many feeds?

Dunno
Never counted
Just gave 'em a feed as and when it occured to me/them.

adorabelle · 30/07/2007 20:46

TheBlonde, my dd had fits and starts.
Some days i'd be feeding her for an hour, put her down then before I knew it she wanted another feed.

Other days she'd go a good 4 hrs, which was a marathon for her. Be led by your dd and feed her as when she wants to, by doing this you can't go wrong

Hmm, at 4 months it all went haywire here as ds had a horrendous cold and basically starved himself for 2 weeks and then gorged himself for the next 2 to catch up.. but around then I think I was still feeding roughly every 3-4 hours until about midnight.

chipmonkey · 30/07/2007 21:41

One. Which lasted 24 hours.;

Jackstini · 30/07/2007 21:47

About every 3-4 hours on average
But then some days every 2 hours..
Then some days every hour and then not for 6...
Don't worry, just keep offering - how many had she had today? (depends on length of them too)

TheBlonde · 30/07/2007 22:46

thanks

she was having 6-8 a day but only 4 today so far

At 4m it was still very random and 'on demand' for both of mine.

Be led by them.

ChasingSquirrels · 30/07/2007 22:58

umm, about every 60-90 mins THROUGHOUT the day (so 7am - 7pm) plus a couple at night.

JoMa · 30/07/2007 23:07

ds2 is 4 months next week, he feeds at midnight, 4am, 8am, noon, 3pm, 6pm, somtimes at9pm but sometimes misses that feed

dazedandconfunded · 31/07/2007 13:12

My 4m dd does 8am, 12noon, 3pm, 6pm and 7.30pm, then 4am. At least, that's what i aim for. She sometimes just refuses and goes 6 hrs or so. She will never take more feeds than this, and would happily take less, I suspect.

Somedays she was on all day (honestly, all day, she hardly lifted her head to breath). Other days she went hours between feeds.
