Adjusting to fewer night feeds

Hi all, currently breastfeeding with my 5 week old. She's just started sleeping longer at night which is great, but I'm waking up with very painful boobs! She's still feeding quite frequently in the day, so my question is will my milk supply adjust to this? I haven't used a pump yet as I was told this would confuse the milk supply, but would this help?

Yes it will adjust, takes a few days. (then she’ll have a growth spurt and your boobs will have to adjust back again!)
If you’re having problems with soreness, lumps etc while they adjust then you could try hand expressing to get rid of a bit of milk (or freeze it) and soften your breasts a little bit but I wouldn’t pump as that would just encourage more milk production.
