Just in case you use them and like them and don't already know - they're being phased out. Shame really, I find them great for freezing breastmilk. (So, I've stocked up!)
They are being replaced though, by more expensive and possibly less versatile tub thingys .

I prefer the lansinoh ones anyway as i find them very easy to use. have recently bought the boots ones and they're very fiddly. the lansinoh ones have a seal on the bag

wondered where they'd got to between DS and DD. i have some of the tub things. ok but expensive

kbaby · 15/09/2004 16:30

Yes DP went to get me some and the women at boots told him they were stopping them. Luckily he bought 5 boxes of them!!

I thought the tubs you could only use approx 5 times before they had to be thrown out.

JulieF · 15/09/2004 16:58

The tubs are a complete waste of money. They can only be used 5 times. I ahve some that were sent as a freebie but I shan't buy any more.

Boots do their own make pre sterilised bags. They are cheaper than the Avent ones too.

playtex do some but can only get them these days from indy chemists

meysey · 15/09/2004 21:24

the playtex ones are stronger and cheaper and the same fit as avent. they are harder to find but you can order them over the net (on previous mumsnet thread somewhere)

MrsDoolittle · 15/09/2004 21:51

Explains why I couldn't find the bags whne I looked. I got the 'tub thingys' but I also feel they are quite expensive beacsue they don't last very long.

I have just ordered loads from the avent website, they accepted the order - I will let you know if they turn up.

Debbie

Debbiethemum · 18/09/2004 20:52

My order turned up this morning, so that was a lot quicker than the 28 days they say on the website.

Levanna · 20/09/2004 00:27

Hi Debbie, I spoke with Avent when I realised I couldn't get them at my local 'baby' shops any more; they said they'd be available by mail order for now but will be discontinued soon. Glad you had no problems getting yours . I hadn't realised how many other brands are available, I honestly haven't come across any others before. I'll have a good look in Boots when I'm there again!
