Sore boob - should I top up my toddler with cow’s milk?

I can’t feed my 17 month old from my right hand side, The nipple is suddenly very sore.
He’s still feeding from the left but I guess that means he’s just having around half the amount of milk he was.
Should I top up temporarily with cows milk? Or would that mean the beginning of the end of breastfeeding (which I don’t want).

No, you need to find out what’s wrong with the sore boob and address that or you risk problems. Have you ever had a blocked duct before? Could it be that? If you can’t feed because it’s too sore it must be something going on. How often do you usually feed now? Could you pump? Best remedy for blockages is hot bath, ibuprofen and loads of massage.

I think regarding your query about your little one, your breasts don’t produce a set amount, so if the left is being used more it will likely produce more, but just be led by him, if he seems thirsty offer more milk or water and let him decide.

Addressing the cause of the pain is the best way to keep bf going. Flowers for you. I have a milk blister at the moment and it’s very sore Shock
