does anyone's baby prefer to feed whilst lying down?

after many health diagnoses (hidden reflux, colic, tummy pain etc) I have come to the conclusion that my ds2 (16 weeks) does not like to be held whilist feeding. This is what he does:

The first 2-3 oz he'll take whilst i feed him in my arms, then i wind him

then i put the bottle back to his mouth and the jerks, moves, back arching and screaming begins.

I then lie him down and put the bottle in his mouth and HE starts drinking it fine (i rest his head on a pillow)

is it just my baby that does this or is there anyone out there whose baby disliked feeding in the arms?

Hi sandi102, my baby also likes feeding lying on my bed.Its nice for me too as i can read my book each time she feeds. Just have to be careful not to fall asleep! maybe its more comfy for them? dont know why really but sure it can't do any harm. She is seven months now and won't feed well any other way which i guess may not be such a good thing if she gets hungry and there isnt a bed around!!

Ds is now 12 months and still has 2 bottles a day, morning and evening. He has never liked being cuddled and feeding was always a struggle. He's a big baby and I found it easier from about 4 months to lay him on a couple of pillows with his legs across my lap to feed. He seems happier with this. He seems to prefer not being 'restrained'. He doesn't like having his hand held either. I've been quite upset over his lack of 'cuddliness' in the past but now accept it's just the way he is. He's really affectionate in other ways, just doesn't like being held close.

Boob whilst lying on the bed in the cool with Mum and Dad is my little fellas fav time of day. He's so much more relaxed and is probably his biggest feed because of it.

snap! I've finally accepted that is the way he is too. I even went to see an osteopath. It helped a little but within a day he went back to the way he wanted to feed. Grizzly, how did you find it with solids?

I always fed ds lying down, because he was never a cuddly baby. The feed also seemed to go better when lying down too, not sure why.
