Advice on getting pregnant while breastfeeding

Hello. Does anyone have any good advice on how to bring back my periods whilst breastfeeding? I currently EBF my 3 month old (feed about 8-10 times in 24 hrs so basically 3 hrly, including 2-3 times in the night, for 10-15 mins per feed) and love doing so, but I'd love to try for a sibling as soon as I can as it took us several years to get pregnant with our baby. I'd love to keep feeding whilst trying but doubt I'm fertile yet. I've heard if you drop a feed suddenly it can bring it back - what does this entail? Any advice gratefully received! Thanks.

Could you hold on another 3 months?
Once your baby is 6 months old and eating other sources of food it will be easier to drop feeds.

Other feeds will naturally drop eg night feeds and that will affect your fertility.

You just have to wait or stop feeding as much.

As an aside, I got pregnant when DC1 was 10 months. I really wouldn't recommend the 2 under 2 route even though both DC have got on swimmingly and have both been fairly easy children. It's the hardest thing I have ever done in my life.

I can understand you not wanting to wait but, breath. Enjoy the LO you have now and relax.

In all probability your fertility will come back round 12 months and if it doesn't, you can do some night weaning then to encourage it.

You can still enjoy lots of sex until then, well that's if you get the chance with a small baby Smile

Even if you stop breastfeeding altogether, it could take several months for your periods to return. Unfortunately it’s not something that is easily controlled.

Took me 18months to conceive dc1 and dc2 was conceived 1st time. Just because it took a long time first time round doesn't mean it will the 2'd time.

I’ve got pregnant 4 times whilst bf (3 babies 1 mmc)
I found that once periods returned around 8 months I was back to full fertility straight away despite still feeding a lot still. From 8 months all my babies were having x3 meals a day plus a bottle at bathtime (4/5oz of neocate or other formula)
If like a pp says you can wait 3 more moths it may be easier to drop feeds we didn’t drop feeds as such just increased food especially things like yogurts etc so even though bf was still as frequent o think they were naturally taking less which quickly became the equivalent of 1-2 ‘missed feeds’ each day just as they were shorter feeds iyswim

Thanks so much for all your comments. I'll relax a bit and try to put it out of mind for a bit!!
