next for DS3? He's currently on SMA but he's seems to be very 'windy' (bottom end ) on it - even before he switched to mixed feeding he was had a lot of flatuence and SMA seems to be making it worse (have read on several threads that this appears to be a common problem with SMA). So - which one should I try

Aptimal
Cow and Gate

or something else?? (is there anything else!)

Aptamil worked for my windy dd-well helped anyway.
Good luck.

CodLiverOil · 04/07/2007 13:14

Aptamil.

ejt1764 · 04/07/2007 13:15

I only ever tried Aptamil after I finished bf ds, and it suited him really well!

hana · 04/07/2007 13:17

aptamil here as well

thehairybabysmum · 04/07/2007 13:20

or cow & gate...made by same people as aptamil and ingredients looked pretty much te same to me..just £1 cheaper per tub.

fannyannie · 04/07/2007 13:30

right it seems Aptimil has the most votes - so I shall try it.........and come back and bash you all if he doesn't like it/makes him more windy

Only real differnce i have found between Aptamil and C&G is that C&G is often a bit cheaper and there are more on the shelves being as Aptamil is very popular.

there are also HIPP organic and Farleys.

fannyannie · 04/07/2007 13:34

ooo b*gger there's more to add into the equation???

Perhaps I'll just buy the cheapest on the shelves (excluding SMA) and see how we go

Noooo, not SMA. go for Aptamil, it's better than all the others imho.

MatNanPlus · 04/07/2007 13:38

Aptamil is good but several times last yr our local tesco's couldn't keep it on the shelves as it is so popular, which meant going round all the little chemists hoping they had some and then bulk buying and storing.

TinyGang · 04/07/2007 13:40

Used Aptimal for all of mine. It smells funny, but they liked it.

katewilson13 · 04/07/2007 13:44

Hipp. Organic and available in most Boots and larger Tescos etc. My DS loves it.

MatNanPlus · 04/07/2007 13:45

Farleys is made by Heinz

fannyannie · 04/07/2007 15:34

well I got Aptimil - shall make up his bottles later with it and see how we get on........

Have to wait for the kettle to finish descaling first

guidelines are to make each feed as you need it.

I pour the cooled water into the bottles and put aside to add powder to when needed. That way bottles are given at room temp and so no need to heat when out and about.

fannyannie · 05/07/2007 18:28

haha - room temperature - I have a stubborn child (actually DS2 was the same) and despite my best efforts will NOT drink at room temp...got to be warm.
