Hi all

Have 9 wk old baby girl who was 71b 5oz born, now 121b 5oz so weight okish. But she pukes up at least one ENTIRE feed a day. This is usually towards the end of the day when trying to settle for the night. I thought I was overfeeding but have been taking care not to - sometimes she brings up 2 feeds a day and this is entire feed not just dribbles. I'm getting a bit down about it as of course because she is putting on weight doctors and HVs don't listen at all.......this is my 3rd child so I don't think I'm being too neurotic.......anyone else had this.

This girl is not a sleeper...doesn't sleep much at all during the day..2hrs max and feel like I feed her a lot during the night. Tiredness and this sickness getting me down.

Plus 2 yr old has horrible hand foot and mouth disease......I need cheering up.....

Oh how awful for you - didn't want to leave your post unanswered...no advice, but loads of sympathy, niceglasses. Can you try another HV or doctor?

I'm sure if you step into the Bar tonight, someone will pour you a large one.

Are you feeding from both breasts or one?

Hi Niceglasses, awful time for you. DS and DD had hand foot & mouth about 3-4mths ago. Just want to say (in case you don't have any experience of this) that yur 2yr old will have a very sore throat and will not appreciate anything citrusy. May go off of food and be generally off. Also, be aware that poos are infectious for 4 wks after the illness. Dribble is also a problem. DD passed it to DS through dribble but the adults in my household did not catch it. We were careful. Seemed to go on for ages.

So sorry to hear you're having such an awful time. My bfed dd used to bring back entire feeds too, until I realised it was because I was making too much milk on one side and it was all coming out a bit too fast for her, expressing a bit first when I hadn't fed from that side for a while stopped the problem completely. Sending you tons of sympathy and hope things start looking up soon.

I guess you've all gone to bed now but I have a 14week old breast fed baby girl, 7 lbs 5 oz at birth and now only 10 lbs 8 ozs. She's happy, chatty and smiley sleeping for 8 hours through the night (lovely) but vomiting up most feeds throughout the day. Have been given baby gaviscon which seems to work but the bit of vomit is jelly like and horrid and she hasn't pooed since I started it 3 days ago (when she used to fill at least 2 a day) Considering stopping it and putting up with the washing and wait for solids - what do you think? Perhpas mix baby rice with expressen milk?

Sorry its taken a while to get back.

To answer Mears - usually just feeds from one but I do offer her 2. Thing is all my kids have been reluctant to feed from left boob as it really does squirt out of there at quite a pace and don't think they can cope, so right boob just gets used most of the time.

I am trying hard not to overfeed in case that is it. She didn't throw up yesterday - first for a long time.......
