Prone to gain a lot of weight while breastfeeding. Any safe way to lose it?

Hello! I am pregnant with my third child and - after finishing breastfeeding each one - I have to work my arse off to lose the stone I gain while bf. I don’t gain it in pregnancy, it’s all breastfeeding weight. (With my others, I breastfed for around a year each.)

I am not one of those who loses weight while bf, my body holds onto the fat to make milk. I get really irritated at the myth that all women who bf are slim.

Because this’ll be my third time Grin I don’t feel as inclined to give into it as I have before. Mainly because I work really hard to lose it every time.

Anyone else’s body a fat-clinger when bf’ing? What can I do to keep the weight off?

It’s mostly that the area around my boobs (my back, top of my arms, my shoulders(!)) get so big. I want to start this next journey feeling good about my body throughout! (I obviously know less calories in means weight loss, but I don’t want my milk supply to suffer.)

You can do slimming world.

I wonder if it is bf or just being knackered that made you put on weight.

I’m watching with interest, I put on loads of weight while breastfeeding last time and I’m heading that way again (although Christmas hasn’t helped). The best way I have found to lose weight for me is 5:2 and you can in theory do it while feeding but I’m also a bit worried that my supply may be inpacted. To be honest I probably just need to track calories and stop snacking and drinking hot chocolate!
