Can I slip some breast milk into my older DC’s cow’s milk to stop them getting my bug?

Baby and I have had a stomach bug. I don’t want me other DC to get it (they are 4 and 2.)

Is it completely mad to think I can add some of my expressed milk to their normal milk to give them to antibodies to it?

Don’t know if it’ll work, but certainly won’t do them any harm, so I’d say worth a try.

Your breast milk didnt stop the baby getting sick so I doubt it’d do any good.

Baby and I got the bug at the same time so breastmilk didn’t have time to catch up with the baby. Yes

Deffo worth a go

It's worth a try but they'll need a good glassful of it to get anything like enough I would imagine. If you can pump enough while you're ill. I had it on Monday and my supply definitely diminished that day until I got back on with the fluids.

I'd try it, you have nothing to lose. Hope it works!

Haworthia · 01/12/2018 21:26

I don’t think it works like that.

Won't do any harm. Lots of people still bf children of those ages. People milk is better for people than cow milk.
