How much milk per day should they be having at 8 months?

A friend of mine wants to cut down to just one breastfeed a day, plus some milk in meals - too little I reckon?

I reckon too little too. Why doesn't she at least do first thing in the morning, last thing at night? Although personally I'd also offer once or twice in the day as well as that.

I had my DS2's 9 month check today, and my HV recommended that he should be drinking about 20 ounces a day (he's on formula now). I can't imagine your friend's LO would be getting anything like that from 1 feed a day.

Why does she want to cut it down? If she wants to reduce bf, why not introduce some formula instead?

She's back at work and I think she thinks it's easier that way.

Will let her know though, thanks.

The 20 ounces is a minimum I think as well.
