I forgot to sterilise my breast pump, shall I use the ebm?

Sleep deprivation is taking its toll. I switched it on, then went out but it wasn't plugged in. The I expressed and to make matter worse added it to some ebm in the fridge that was done useing sterilised pump and bottles. Am so annoyed about this.

My 8 week old got EBM the other day & I hadn't sterilised the pump or collecting bottle - he seems to have survived . Breast milk is antibacterial or so I've heard.

well not quite squalor, give me a few more weeks! Am getting increasingly good at walking round stuff rather than tidying it. I know I washed it up (last time I put it in a dishwasher and the teats got stained red from the pasta sauce) but how well I don't remember!

when dd1 was born and was in alder hey icu we had to sterilise all the epuipment.

i was when dd2 came 11 weeks early and they told me not to sterilise to just use soapy water and rinse well. as soon as i was home i sterilised.

therefore if they allow it on a prem baby in hospital i'm sure your lo will be perfectly fine from it

Can I ask, do you sterilise your breast before feeding? Do you sterilise your finger before you use it to lever the little sucking monster off your breast? If the answer is no then it will probably be ok.
I hope that doesnt come across as smart arse it isnt meant that way.

kreamkrackers, my ds1 was a patient at the icu at alder hey when he was a baby. They gave us a little steriliser box to keep in the bay with him but my pump wouldn't fit in so I didn't bother . ds1 is still here
