Is he trying to wean himself off? How do you know when to stop?

DS is 10 months and is now down to 2-3 feeds a day. The best one is usually the first one in the morning as he actually seems to sit still and get something out of it (so to speak.) He has one in the afternoon if he can be bothered but more often I end up giving him water out of a cup instead as he won't sit still and seems to prefer wriggling, fighting or beating me around the head with the tv remote.

Bed time feed is somewhere between the two, he just doesn't seem very bothered any more. He gets loads of calcium from milk on his cereal, yogurts and tofu so I'm not too worried about it from that perspective, but is this how it begins when they want to stop? It's a bit sad, I think I'll miss it. Then again, other days whilst he's slapping me round the chops and screaming I think I probably won't!

yeah my dd is 11 mths, nearly 1, and she is down to one morning feed a day, now she only sucks for about 10 seconds on each side and then pulls an evil face as if it tastes awful! charming...
she weaned herself down, just like yours is doing, I wanted to feed her through her MMR at 13 mths (I think) but its looking unlikely. I suspect my left boob has dried up already!
Never mind, can abuse alcohol and prescription drugs again....silver linings...

Hehee, I like it (although have been fairly drunk a few times, bad mother!) I occasionally get worried as to whether he's feeding enough but I really should have learnt to trust him by now I suppose!
