Looking for some support from other parents whos little one needed to be tube fed. Am struggling with it so much and feel like a bad mum as I've never wished this for my dd😔. I feel like I've let her down.

Hey, I couldn't not reply to this. I've been there. My little boy had a chest infection when he was born, and was in the NICU for 12 days. The first 2 he was in an incubator, and he had to be tube fed for 4 days.
I had chosen not to breastfeed, didn't want to even try it or try expressing. So he had formula. I felt like it should have been myself and my husband giving him his bottles. I hated that we couldn't even do that for him.
But I took comfort in knowing that as hard as it was for us to see, it was best for him at that time. It helped him, and ultimately that was the most important thing.
No one ever wishes that for their child. But you are not a bad mum nor have you let her down. You're a strong, brilliant mum, doing the absolute best for your daughter at this very difficult time.
I know exactly how you're feeling. Just over 3 years ago it was me feeling like you are now. I felt like I couldn't give my baby the care he needed, and I should have been able to as his mum.
But it's not our fault. All we can do is be there and try to be as positive as we can.
ThanksStar flowers for you. And a star, because you are one. Truly.

How old is your dd?
I know exactly how you feel, and you have not let your dd down. my dd was tubefed...it was difficult (so many things were out of my hands, and not like I’d hoped they would be- like her first bath etc), but I tried to focus on all the things I could do for her, and reminded myself that without the tube she wouldn’t have survived. Be kind to yourself x x

She's 3 weeks old. Am finding it hard for being able to go out for long periods of time i just feel like I've got no life atm. I know i do keep thinking that about her not being here without it.
