DS is 14 weeks and is on the 91st centile since birth. He's EBF and has always been a good feeder thankfully. However, for the last 4 weeks he wakes every 2 hours from 8pm to 6am for a big feed. I am chronically sleep deprived as a result. I know they do a 4 month sleep regression which may have come early for us, but he's feeding so much at night that he doesn't seem to be that hungry during the day. He can go 4 hours in the day without a big feed (I offer regularly, he might have a snack but it's not like at night).

He used to sleep so well 😭

Any advice? I don't like bed sharing but he's next to me in a cot. It's really messing up my daytime supply.

Sounds like he could be reverse cycling. Could you wake him in the day after 3 hours?

NationalShiteDay · 16/09/2018 19:02

Thanks Jilted I had been scouring the Kellymom website for advice but hadn't heard about reverse cycling. Certainly sounds like it could be but we're together all day and he's in the sling for about half of it.

A useful read, will hear it in mind, thank you

Don’t bother spending lots of time researching, that’s what MN is for Smile

I reckon sleep regression. It will pass. His logic, so much to nose at during the day, might as well be eating through the night. I know you hate it but cosleeping works so well for the scenario you describe. I was against it on my first, dead set, my third mmmm needs must.

Niamh you're so right - he's far more interested in anything else other than feeding during the day! His favourite thing to do is latch on, bring my milk down, and then have a good old nosey at everything else so my milk is going everywhere! I might have to start putting a muslin over him.

I really can't bed share. I have dreams of suffocating people every time. I'm just so paranoid about overlaying.
