Am I feeding him enough?!

My DS who is almost 2 does have a big appetite! But from what I feed him, my DH says that he doesn't eat enough cos he feeds him way more! This is what he eats on a typical day with me:

Breakfast:
Beans on toast
Banana

Snack:
Wotsits, blueberries, cheese cubes and a small muffin (mini muffins)

Lunch:
Sandwich (usually turkey slices), yogurt, and cucumber sticks or any other fruit

Snack:
Small rice pudding pot, a snack bar for kids (oaty bars I think they're called), or a boiled egg

Dinner:
Whatever We eat as a family. Sometimes a chicken curry with rice, bangers and mash, meatballs and pasta etc.

Snack:
Milk and a biscuit

Surely that's enough for him? Okay I do realise now writing this that some of the food he eats do have a lot of sugar so I need to cut that out/down. Any other healthy alternatives?

That’s basically what I feed my 21 month old, so yeah I’d say it was enough

Similar to us. My two year old only has a mid morning snack but does have porridge before bed. Otherwise sounds the same if not more than mine eats

It sounds like quite a lot of food(depending on portion sizes), you can find recommend portion sizes if you google but if his weight is ok and he has lots of energy I wouldn’t worry.

If you are after comparisons my youngest is 2.5 yesterday he had

Breakfast- a sausage, 3 or 4 tablespoons of beans,1/2 slice of toast and a hash brown

Lunch- wholemeal pitta bread pizza, cucumber sticks and some strawberries

Dinner- Shepards pie followed by a yogurt

I think it sounds like a lot of food tbh.

my ds is 2 and a half

Typical breakfast here is overnight oats with coconut and banana or beans on toast

Snack yogurt and a peeled and sliced apple or watermelon maybe

Lunch soup or a toasted sandwich

Afternoon snack maybe a handful of raisins but he usually has a drink of milk and doesn’t want a snack too

Dinner would be meat potatoes and veg or some sort of fish or pasta, usually 2/3 veg

He might have custard after dinner sometimes and usually a couple of biscuits or rice cakes or a packet of snax at various times during the day

I really only give the snacks if he asks for one, I think if you keep offering they’ll keep eating, my husband is a bit like yours sounds and they seem to eat all day when I’m not here but I think what you give him sounds like quite a lot and I definitely don’t think he needs more than that
