I hadn't heard of this but I know that if you donate milk the hospital will lend you a pump for the duration. Good idea though Yorkiegirl!

I know my situation was a bit "special" came out of hospital with dd when she was 10 days old, she has Down Syndrome and feeding was a large problem at the time.
I had the intention of using the manual pump that I used with ds, but considering the amount of time dd was taking to drink this just didn't work out and I was thinking of having to go straight on to formula.
By chance my HV rang to see how we were doing and they had an electric pump sitting in a cupboard in the clinic.
I also remember that the hospitals gave me a few phone numbers, for companies that hire pumps. Can't remember details, perhaps it was through La Leche or NCT.
