Formula advice re runny poo (sorry if tmi!!!)

DD is 15 weeks and has been very gradually been moved from breast to formula. Sorry if this is tmi but her poos used to be firmer but still quite soft and she would often only have a dirty nappy every 3 or 4 days. She is currently on Cow & gate and poos often several times a day and it is really runny. I usually have to change her clothes. I wonder (apart from the hassle with changing) whether she is getting enough out of the milk (she seems fine and contented) and whether it is worth my while switching formula. We recently went to France and ran out ouf formula, used French make and poo situation much better. Any advice?

Bienchen, not my speciallist area but there is some anecdotal evidence that formula with prebiotics causes this sort of thing. Maybe ask your HV what she thinks? There's nothing wrong with switching formula, by the way. We have the idea in this country that you must stay on the same brand if you can, but there's no reason to.

Sounds v much like it's your brand of formula to me. Perhaps SMA gold is worth a try - it's a whey based formula.

I would add that it's not my specialist area either - DD is breastfed but I do know people who have gone from C&G to SMA and liked the results (or their babies have).
