Okay , i'm really paranoid about my milk supply.

Ds is 9.5mths old and i feed him 3 times a day. When his solid intake increased i decided i was going to cut it down to this with the idea of stopping at 1yr. The thing is, after reading info on sites like 'kellymom' which encourage feeding on demand (i obviously did this when he was smaller) i'm worried that my milk will dry up and that i'm not actually producing enough to nourish him. He usually seems happy enough and i don't see any indications that he wants milk more frequently, but i almost feel as if i'm being a bit mean for not whipping my breast out all day long iykwim. I also never get sore/bursting boobs anymore, and i don't feel the letdown (certainly no danger of me squirting anybody in the eye). Any advice wouold be appreciated.

I still feed ds, who is nearly 12 months, on demand, but I haven't felt letdown or had sore/bursting boobs for months and months, never had with my two dd's after the first few months either, that doesn't mean anything.

It sounds like things are going really well with you and your ds, I wouldn't worry!

Thanks, also meant to add that i tried hand expressing the other day, and only got 1oz!

I'm sure he manages to get out much more than that.

If he's happy and healthy and pooing and weeing okay then I really don't think you have a problem.

Sounds perfectly normal

Your breasts are producing exactly what he needs, hence no leaking and bursting boobs.
Expressing really doesn't indicate what your supply is like.
I have a really fast let down with a good supply but couldn't hand express a drop
I think we all go through the 'Is my supply ok' thing every so often xxx

i dont feed dd2 nearly 9mo on demand, i feed at specific times,usualy about 5 times in 24 hours... If yu want to boost your supply try fenugreek capsules, they take a day or so to work and you'll smell of curry but they worked for me!
