My DD is staying at my mum's tonight - not sure how the boobs will hold out!

DD (14 months) is staying at my mums tonight so we can have a good nights sleep - she is a terrible sleeper and usually has 3 or 4 feeds between bedtime and getting up time. I think she will be ok as she doesn't need milk per se, just likes a comfort suck! but I'm not sure how i'll be as I have had a look tonight for the breastpump if I need it and can't find in anywhere! I think I'll be rushing over to my mums first thing and will make her have both sides. It feels so weird without her, we've managed to watch a whole recorded episode of Lost without interruption so far. Just hoping that our other dd toddlepants - 2.8 won't wake up now...

Can you hand express? I had difficulty with it but I think Mears linked to a site before telling you how!

How did you get on, Jenky?

Jenkeywoo · 04/06/2007 23:44

Well... DD was up every half hour crying for mama. oh dear, my poor mummy. But I did feel better for having unbroken sleep for the first time in over 2 years! When I woke up boobs were feeling full but not engorged and so as DD1 was up early too we went over to mum's at 7am. DD was very pleased to see me and I made her have both boobs till they were good and empty. She really made up for it too, feeding loads all weekend! bless her my little lovey, and bless my mum for having her over-night!

glad you got some sleep, Jenky, even one night makes a big difference to one's sanity, doesn't it?

Glad you got some sleep Jenkeywoo. I have nothing to add except that I found myself hand expressing into the bathroom sink at 3.30am last week cos we had gone out for our anniversary and bottle fed DS on our return so he wouldn't get drunk. Oh the glamour of motherhood!!
