Breastfeeding whilst pregnant......haven't experienced this before..

I am nearly 6 months pregnant and still breastfeeding twin daughters who are nearly one.During the week I work full time and feed them about 4-5 times in any 24 hour period.I express my milk at work and they are given EBM in bottles about 3times a day...we are doing BLW, they are still in the very early stages.
I have fed before whilst pregnant,( I have 3 older DSs ),but have never got such sore nipples before...I don't normally get sore nipples even at the beginning of breastfeeding. It has been a problem for about the last 4 weeks...I haven't noticed anything different about the way the girls feed, and it isn't any worse,( or better ! ) at weekends when we drop EBM and feed a lot more frequently.
I sometimes feed the girls together, sometimes apart...they each have their fav breast.
I have taken to using a breastshield,( very fiddly...but girls don't seem to notice it).
Btw I have tandem fed before whilst pregnant...no problems then.
Any advice/tips ?

My obsterician thinks it will pass....I live in France,( didn't in other pregnancies...),and breastfeeding support like NCT/LLL seems a bit thin on the ground...

I fed DS up until a few months ago when he gave up (he was 13 months) I think because I was pregnant and my milk changed - I'm guessing that was the reason anyway! I think he knew I was pg before I did.

I had v sore nipples initially with bf and discovered I had thrush (again guessing that it was due to the antibiotics I got after birth) which is transferred to baby's mouth back to nipple and ends up in a constant reinfection cycle until treated.

There are lots of other symptoms that don't always appear (the ones I remember are white marks in baby's mouth, cracked/sore nipples that don't heal, nipple sensitivity to extreme temperature (esp showers - ouch!), baby fussing while feeding - can't remember any more!).

I'm sure others will have ideas too - this is just my experience. Hope it clears up whatever it is...

No advice, I'm afraid, as I'm giving up for the same reason, it's very, very painful. We've been cutting down a lot and now it's only once every couple of days (DD is 2y 3m) and, sadly, I hate it every time, it hurts so much. Good luck with finding a different solution.

Hi, I went through very sore nipples a few weeks ago but it has eased to become bareable again. I am 5ishmonths pregnant & frequently bfing my 7.5month old. I dont really have any advice but have found that lying down to feed is more comfortable for me.
Well done you for feeding twins through & tandem feeding in pregnancy too!!
