ds3 used to do that.......

noseynora · 23/05/2007 19:24

Rubbing ear, pulling hair, would hit herself on the head too if I didn't take objects of her

BandofMothers · 23/05/2007 19:26

LOL, yeah, she often swipes her hand along her hair behind her ears too which is annoying when she's eating solids too and rubs marmite sandwich all over her head

Kewcumber · 23/05/2007 19:27

how old?

Ettenna · 23/05/2007 20:27

my 10 week old flails around in excitement sometimes when feeding and often clonks himself on the face or head. I don't think it's anything to worry about....?

gybegirl · 23/05/2007 20:38

Yup!! - a real whack whack on the side of her head. I'd try and get her to hold my hand with her fingers and that normally distracted her. She's stopped now though!

Jenkeywoo · 24/05/2007 00:00

dd - 14 months still has 'flapping arm' when feeding and whacks herself on her head! DD1 - 2.9 whacks herself on the head with her toy doggie when drinking her bottle and has done since she was tiny. My sis always says that their hands are the last thing to go to sleep and the first thing to wake up! only problem at the moment is that we have a new 10 week old kitten and when dd's arm is flapping she thinks she is playing and keeps pouncing on her! she also plays with dd's little wiggly ears when she's breastfeeding, have had to shut kitty in the lounge when I'm getting dd off to sleep!

mine does that when she's feeding and tired.

Katy44 · 24/05/2007 00:11

DS sticks his finger in his mouth and dislatches himself!

cazee · 24/05/2007 10:25

No, but DD has taken to kneading my other breast, and swiping my v necessary breast pad!

mamabear2b · 24/05/2007 12:49

My ds (9wk this week) does this too and often comes off the breast at the same time.

I was getting worried that it was because I wasn't producing enough milk and he was getting frustrated as it happens about 15 minutes into a feed but he keeps piling on the ounces

pooter · 24/05/2007 23:43

hiya, my little boy did that too, and although i didnt really think it was anything to worry about, (infact i laughed a bit ) i bought a feeding necklace - it is just the right length, has big beads for him to mess about with, and jingly bells for him to listen to. It also stops him punching me in the boob and pulling my top down......
