Gap between breast feeds?

The advice on another thread was that my milk supply might be negatively affected by letting DH take the baby out (with expressed milk) for 4hrs on a Sunday evening. So what's the safe maximum gap between feeds? If I express while DH is out will that maintain my supply? And most importantly, if a gap of 4-5 hours between feeds is bad then how can I expect DD to eventually sleep through the night as it will be longer than that between feeds?

In my opinion it's more for the comfort as your boobs get full.
All I ever did was pump if I became too full and sore.
If not I wouldn't worry.

I breastfed my first till 8 months and currently feeding my second at 7months.

I left my first at 6 weeks for 9 hours and just pumped when I had solid boobs and it was fine.

Just go with your body.

Your supply will regulate itself. If there are regular times where your baby doesn't take milk then your body won't produce much at that time. Although this takes a few months to happen.

If you are going more than 4-5 hours I would pump to maintain your supply. You will probably be uncomfortable too without pumping.

When the baby starts to sleep through the night your body will produce less milk at night.

It’s been ages since I pumped for baby as she steadfastly refused a bottle. Have you looked at kellymom.com as it has tonnes of advice about bf.
I read your other thread and I wish you luck with working thus situation out. Personally, I wouldn’t have wanted my baby gone for that long when she was that small.

How old is the baby? If within the first 40 days the. I wouldn't. Anything past 40 days then it should be fine. Just pump when you're uncomfortable. I was away from both DC for more than 6 hours before they were 3 months old and each time it was fine.

All babies are different. My first wanted to feed all the time. My second wanted to sleep all the time. I dream fed him if he got past 3hrs. Until he was a decent age.
However, I really think you should speak to your health visitor or a trusted family member. Your dh sounds awful and I'm worried he's not got your dad's best interests at heart. She's not a dolly to go visiting.
I wouldn't let a mean Mil visit my dc unsupervised for fear of what toxic nonsense she might feed them.

Your supply will be fine and it will not be affected after missing one feed. Like others have said pump if you can as it will ease any discomfort and will help to sustain a milk supply within the freezer. Breastfeeding is tough so well done for all your hard work xx
