ds2 will happily eat and drink most things I give him. he was doing really well on 3 meals a day plus puds, 4 breastfeeds in day and one feed at night around 4am. however recently starting waking twice or three times a night so I increased his solids intake and he settled down for a few days but then took less and less boob in the day with the result that we're back to square one again, eating loads in the day, not interested in boob, and having all his milk feeds at night, last night he woke four times for boob!!! should I decrease solids again??

Hi Kiera, up to a year old you should offer milk first as it's important that your baby gets most of his nutrients from milk.

Just offer milk at each meal time before you offer other foods and he will naturally take what he needs to regulate his appetite. Waking at night is very common at this stage and not always linked with feeding. Give him time to adjust to the new food etc, and keep offering milk frequently during the day - hopefully things will settle into a more easy routine for you.
