Fore/Hind milk imbalance - too much weight gain?

My dd is gaining on average 10oz per week and when i express it seems to be just hind milk that comes out as when it settles and seperates there is very little water just loads of thick cream.

Could this be because i am taking a herbal tincture? Is it possible that it is making my milk have more hind milk rather than increasing the overall quantity?

My ds2 is gaining that as well (over 4lbs in 6 wks) and when I express its 70/30
I think thought that to judge what baby can suck from what what you can express is dubious as baby gets it better than you can if you get me.

Nah. You are fine!

I really wouldn't over-analyse your milk or worry about this. Just be glad your dd is gaining well. If she is exclusively bf there is certainly no need to worry about 'too much' weight gain.

What are you taking and why?

determinatin - forget about analysing. Your baby's doing fine. No one needs to know the proportions of their milk, truly!

We do this to ourselves - looking for things to worry about

Berolina,

I am taking Motherlove Special Blend and the reason i am taking it is because my dd2 was premature and lost 11% of her birth weight and didn't gain anything for over 1 week. The Drs put so much doubt in my mind that i started taking the tincture, now i think it is purely psychological and i am frightened i will not produce the same amount if i stop taking it. I did stop for a few days and i noticed i was feeding more frequently.
