It really hurts!! Worse than when I started b/feeding.
what can I do to stop the pain? Should I be expressing or will that prolonge the agony?

TIA

Tight bra, minimal expressing just to take the pressure off. It took my boobs a week to settle down.

Did you stop dead, or one feed at a time? If you stopped dead it is going to be more painful. I don't think it would be a good idea to express, either way. That will just continue your production. Supply and demand and all that. Maybe just take some painkillers like paracetamol and/or ibuprofen and put a nice hot flannel on your boobs.

I remember it well, and it does pass after a few days or so. Good luck.

When I stopped bf my 6 month old (now 2) I was down to one feed a day and my breasts were always soft so I thought I'd have no problems until about 3 or 4 days later when they became very full, lumpy and uncomfortable. I thought I'd have to ride it out for a few days but it took 2 weeks for them to settle down. Most people don't have this problem for this long though I think it normally only takes a few days, everyone is different.
