How much protein should I eat for breastfeeding an 8 month old?

I keep getting big cuts in my hand where my skin is literally splitting open and not healing very quickly at all.

I have a horrible feeling it may be due to lack of protein. I have an allergy on that hand, so rub/scratch it in my sleep, but I'm sure it shouldn't be like this.

I think I read somewhere I should be eating 60-70g a day - is that right?

Does anyone have any ideas for quick and easy low fat, low calorie protein (can't eat fish, so currently drinking lots of skimmed milk and chicken).

Many thanks

Have you seen the GP about your hand?

I think I would want to have it checked out before trying to treat it with diet.

you don't need to worry about your diet for breastfeeding. of course it's better for your own personal health to eat a good diet but it won't affect your baby one way or another really, unless you're literally starving to death..but even then babies can still get much of what they need.

the issue with your hand needs medical advice if you're worried.

I'm with Ruddy.Hand refusing to heal may be symptom of summat else though.

Thanks all. It's not refusing to heal, just seems to be slow - though it is quite painful, so is probably seems slower than normal cuts. They are little splits too - my original post probably made it sound worst than it is.

I've seen the GP about it before and get the usual bla bla bla that you get about food allergy/eczema/skin problems (use aqueous cream, moisturise, use steroids etc etc).

Out of interest, does anyone know how much protein a bf Mum needs?
