Do you express a lot?..feed them via bottle..?..breast feed usually...age of babies??

MamaDeeGee · 04/01/2018 14:06

I express mostly as im combination feeding

They are 4 months and usually have 8oz forumla or 6 oz breast

Mostly feeding by bottle but i express atleast 4 times a day and once in night and thats been fine for me aswell as one breast feed for each a day
As i said before each time i express i get 5-6 oz breast milk each breast

Nothings changed so not sure whats happened! Xx

Combination feeding as a general rule can undermine the natural milk supply ...it's a balance between what babies take and breast produces.....a lot of people can find they don't feed for as long as a result...

You are also feeding two which is even more complex!!

Is there anyway they can spend longer at the breast?

Also a good la leche leader could help greatly if u want to continue feeding..

I usually feed them both once a day as thats all i really have time for besides pumping and feeding them constantly as i have a 8 year old too.
I go to a breastfeeding support group they were just closed for xmas when i posted

Have you tried looking at photos/videos of babies? Generally melting over them is meant to help. Could also be worth trying different settings on your pump to encourage let down. A hot compress can help too but ultimately it might be best to get 1-to-1 advice if you can so someone can check the pump is effectively working for you / there isn’t anything else that could have changed that might be affecting supply.
