white blister on nipple - could it just go on its own?

I tried popping it with a sterilised needle but didn't realise I was meant to try and unclog it too. Its got bigger and more painful since then. Its till whiteish though. I keep forgetting to put a hot compress over it. Could it just go by itself with feeding and I do a daily expressing too. Have read the stuff on kellymom but it confused me a bit.

I rubbed a bit of breast milk in after each feed and air dried... helped I think.

thanks, will try that. Do you remember how long yours lasted? Am usually better at remembering to do stuff after a feed than before!

AFAIR it lasted about a week. So sore to feed dd on, but hv told me to keep feeding her.

I had one, it coincided with blocked duct too. I did a lot of very firm massage of my breast, stroking down towards the bit of the nip with the blister.

I used hot flannel or a wheatbag over the are too but basically this was because the blocked duct was too painful not to treat, rather than the blister which didn't really cause problems on its own.

Eventually after spending an evening doing thatthe blocked duct cleared (with milk going everywhere!) and the blister burst. That was about five weeks ago and I still have a little bit of empty skin where the blister was but it doesn't hurt anymore.

thanks for the replies. I don't think I have a blocked duct (have had one of those already,i n 5 wks I seem to have gone through every bf problem in the bk!) It seems to have changed overngiht but still hurts to feed. Its not been a wk yet though.
