Mixing Stage 1 and Hungry Baby milk..........

I'm after a bit of advice on behalf of someone else.

I presume you are supposed to have a certain milk and stick with it? rather than just getting what's available on the shelf? If so, can you tell me why? (presume things like richness etc)

Also, how do you know what a baby is ready for hungry baby, IF they ever are?

Hope that makes sense, bit rushed!

TIA

think you're advised to stick with the same milk when they're very small to avoid stomach upsets and let them get used to it

hungry baby milk - I used it once ds was draining every bottle, still seemed hungry, started waking more at night, and wasn't ready for weaning.

my friends 3 children never needed the hungry baby milk.

I think you can tell if they need it iyswim.

i stuck to the same brand just in case it tasted different & dd refused to drink it. hv advised hungry baby - from 4 weeks she was just constantly hungry. it is thicker & harder to digest, so i started with 1/3 hungry to 2/3 normal & gradully upped it. each time i increased the hungry amount, we'd have 24 hrs with lots of milky belches after each feed, then she was ok again.
ps i went livid at tesco when they didn't stock up baby food cos the christmas stock took priority - they soon agreed perhaps it was a bsic which they should keep on the shelves, instead of leaving it in the stock room!

Thanks for your comments. I was pretty sure I was right that you shouldn't give hungry baby milk just because they didn't have what you want on the shelf.

Cheers
