I have had loads of great responses to bfing. In desperation I bfed sitting on the pavement once and an older woman walked past and said 'Good for you'. Health Visitor smiling at me & several other mothers at baby clinic and said 'What a lovely row of bfed babies'. I have loads more, love the other thread but thought a bit of balance would be good.

My dad was really supportive, although I found the fact that he would look at me while ds was feeding a little un-nerving. But he just adores ds and was delighted his grandson was getting what he described as 'good grub' . Once said to my that b/f must be very satisfying because you know your baby is happy and you get a cuddle into the bargain. Sweet.

Now I'm on maternity leave I take the opportunity to do my shopping om market day at the local small town rather than a supermarket. The place is full of grannies (I'm always the youngest there) and almost every time I sit down to feed ds I have some old lady telling me about when she fed her children.

Today I had a younger lady come up and ask me about him (had finished feeding him by then but she must have seen me earlier) and asked if I had heard of local support group, she turned out to be a peer supporter (which I am training to be).

One time I was called over by a couple in a cafe to their tabe and asked if I didn't mind answering a personal question. They had been discussing how long you should feed each side (she couldn't remember what she had been told). This obviously launched into me telling them about baby led feeding.
