ds is 2 and a half, was feeding anywhere between 1 and 5 times a day. stopped as went away and he seems fine about it - but my more-productive boob is bit lumpy and tender today (this is the 6th day) - any advice? how long will it take body to stop making milk? have hand expressed a tiny bit but it's still lumpy - scared of gettign mastitis (though not red at present_ tia, dinny

I'm not an expert but I had really sore boobs for over a week after I gave up feeding (didn't feed for as long as you did but I would think it's the same). They were fine by about day 10/11. Hopefully you will feel better by the end of the weekend

lumpy and tender sounds like blocked ducts - keep hand expressing until you have cleared the lumps, even if it feels a bit tender

try applying heat (eg hot bath or wheat-bag, massaging and then combing with a wide toothed comb towards the nipply, then expressing?

hope you get some more advice - I had mastitis a month ago and it was grim but I got through it

hurrah! someone has answered my plea for help! thank you!

when hand-expressing, do you kind of gently knead towards nipple all around inc underneath to clear lumps?

But don't express too often or too much or your boobs won't get the message about stopping. I found a very tight bra helped too
