9 month old teething and rejecting boob

Hi everyone. My DS, (9 months) exclusively breastfed is cutting his 6th tooth and has rejected my boob for the last 48 hours. In desperation last night I offered him cows milk and again this morning - which he guzzled down and loved. He eats loads of cheese and yog, veg, fish etc. Is it really detrimental to his health if I continue with cow's milk so early? He's never been keen on formula and the few times I have tried to express in the past have been a disaster.

Hi, I don't have much advice but didn't want your post to go unanswered. I don't think switching to cow's milk at this stage would really be the best - I think the issue is to do with how it's digested.

Have you tried using a cup for expressed milk? How much water does he drink a day? Do you think this is just a temporary thing?

My ds (1 in 3 weeks) has gradually cut back on breastfeeds so now he's only having 1 first thing in the morning - it is a big one though. Other than that he drinks water, though since he dropped the bedtime feed last week I've started offering a small amount of cow's milk.

THANK YOU! I was feeling a bit rejected! I haven't tried expressing for 4 months and I hated it when I did - so don't want to go down that route. He drinks plenty of water and likes it. It may be temporary, I don't know. Called a friend who suggested another make of formula - going to give that a go later today and see what happens.
