I have 2 Medela mimi electrics and despite them being noisy I find them really good. Used one of then with ds1 3 years ago and still going strong now. However it does say on the Medela website that it's only designed for 'occasional use' so maybe that's why so may of them have broken? I tried an Avent Manual but personally found it a waste of time and it hurst my wrist. I think breast pumps are very personal things and some people get on better with electric ones and some people manual ones and it may take some time before you find your perfect match. I have hired a Medela Symphony at the moment and despite it being bulky (it's hospital grade and not really designed for going out and about) it's very quiet and very good adjustable sucking action.
Sorry if I just repeated what everyone else said but I feed indebted to give advise on here rather than just asking for it!!

Summerfruit, I hired mine from Medela however if you just need a normal pump buying is more economical.

cheaper to buy than to rent. ebay always have pumps on auction i fyou don't mind second hand.

i swear by ameda lactaline.

I've tried most of the models on the market (for money, not some weird fetish of mine - I had to review them) and if you can afford it, and don't mind the fact it's an electric double pump so not exactly portable, I'd go for the Ameda lactaline too.

I hope that was a job you could do at home and not in the office, mi

I did ask Marina, at the time, whether she'd consider - theoretically, as a person with Proper Office Job - an electric doublepump and her answer was not madly ladylike

I've done the CAT payment summerfruit.

You can also borrow them short term from the hospital AFAIK...maybe ask your MW abaout it.

Shal I hold on to it until your found outthe best options or do you wnat it anyway?? I'm happy to do either
